NEW ZEALAND FISHING VACATION
"Our trip was fabulous! I can't think of a thing you should change. We both enjoyed the fishing. The variation of rivers makes the fishing very interesting. The experience was top rate. I certainly would not hesitate to rebook or to recommend you to friends."
Bruce & Marcia, Colorado, USA
"Rob, we want you to know that the hosts and guides exceeded our expectations. It's always a little risky when trying to arrange something of this magnitude using email. As you can imagine, we've engaged our fair share of guides here in the U.S. We put Dax & Jeremy at the top of experiences. We've all great stories to tell our friends."
Chuck Schlimpert, Oregon, USA.
FishinginNewZealand is a New Zealand-based company, owned and operated by New Zealanders who have one goal in mind: To deliver unique and memorable experiences that include and transcend the thrills of New Zealand river fishing.
The map below illustrates the areas in which we are currently operating. In the Central North Island, the year-round Taupo fishery, plus wilderness experiences in the Taumarunui area (Whanganui River) and on the Mohaka River, and in the South Island, the Nelson area (Murchison), and the Southland area (Garston). Click on these place names to review the options available in each of these areas.
Many of our clients are couples traveling together, one of whom may have no interest in fishing. While the options listed below do not include fees for non-fishing activities, all of these options offer equal opportunity for the non-fishing partner to enjoy their days and in the evening, to reunite over fine food and wine (or other beverages) and share the experiences of the day.
Some of our clients have never fly-fished before but have a desire to learn. Our Taupo and Southland options include skilled and patient instructors willing to offer tuition to novices and in all likelihood, deliver the exhilaration of your first wild trout caught on a fly rod.
We do not team you up with other fishermen. You have your own guide (1 guide can work with 2 of you as required) and your own itinerary for the day. You decide when you start and when you stop.
If you're interested in wilderness fishing, you will no doubt have discovered that in New Zealand, helicopter fly-ins are heavily promoted. These are fine for those willing to pay $NZ1500+ per day for chopper fees but what about less expensive alternatives? Be sure and take a look at our page on raft fishing, and our page on the wilderness fishing trip for a couple of exciting options.
Our all-inclusive package pricing is for 2 people (2 anglers sharing a guide, or 1 angler and 1 non-fishing partner) and includes accommodation, meals, beers and wines, guide services, all necessary equipment, photography and taxes.
The options below are provided as examples of what we can do. You may choose just one of these options, or combine several of these options into your itinerary. Take a look at these, or email us about your specific needs. click here
